The boxing world eagerly awaits the next move of heavyweight great Oleksandr Usyk.
Usyk has achieved more in the sport than many could ever dream of. He has excelled at every level, starting with a gold medal at the London Olympics in 2012.
After turning professional, he soon cleaned out the cruiserweight division and became the undisputed champion by 2018.
Over the next six years, he moved up to heavyweight and established himself with victories over the likes of Derek Chisora, back to back points wins over Anthony Joshua which meant he claimed and then defended three of the world titles, and a knockout win over Daniel Dubois.
In 2024, he twice fought Tyson Fury, once in May to become undisputed then a rematch in December, and again showed his supreme skills across two impressive points victories.
He has never been down in the professional ring, never lost and rarely even been hurt, so is the current pound-for-pound ruler for many people.
Speaking to talkSPORT Boxing, Usyk’s manager Alex Krassyuk revealed the one thing that will motivate the Ukrainian to fight on – becoming undisputed again.
“I see no reason for Oleksandr to fight any other man in the division without the fight being undisputed. The only motivation is to become three-time undisputed. That is something that can get the ball rolling.”
The Ukrainian has also said he will fight once more after taking on the winner.
