Oleksandr Usyk has weighed in on the upcoming battle of Britain between Dillian Whyte and Joe Joyce.

Usyk has cemented himself as the best heavyweight in the world, having secured that status following his back-to-back victories over Tyson Fury in 2024.

The first of those wins back in May saw the Ukrainian become undisputed champion, before he then relinquished the IBF title and retained the unified belts against ‘The Gypsy King’ in December.

The IBF strap is now in the possession of Daniel Dubois, who defends it against Joseph Parker next week, but another recently announced heavyweight bout involving men that Dubois and Parker know well has caught the attention of Usyk.

Dillian Whyte and Joe Joyce meet in an all-British showdown in April, with each man looking to once again reaffirm themselves as a top contender.

Whyte has won three fights since his April 2022 defeat to Fury for the WBC title, having missed over a year of action following a failed drugs test ahead of a planned fight with Joshua in August 2023.

Joyce is also looking to rebuild his career after three defeats in his last four fights, after suffering back-to-back stoppage losses to Zhilei Zhang in 2023, along with coming up short on points to Derek Chisora last July.

Usyk has made his prediction for the upcoming battle, and was certain who would win when asked by TNT Sports.

“Joe Joyce.”

Joyce is set to return in a warm-up fight in March before then facing Whyte in April, and Chisora has also made his prediction for the fight after facing both men.
