Oleksandr Usyk soon rematches Daniel Dubois but has given his view on what would happen were ‘DDD’ to fight Anthony Joshua again.

Dubois stopped Joshua inside five rounds last September. It was the first defence of the IBF belt he received for beating Filip Hrgovic and prevented Joshua from becoming a three-time world champion.

He has not fought since then and is now in camp for his rematch with Usyk, having first fought him back in August 2023. That bout was controversial for the referee’s decision to rule a body shot that sent Usyk to the canvas as low. The two-weight undisputed champion took plenty of time to recover and then stopped Dubois in the 9th round.

Speaking to Mail Sport Boxing ahead of their second fight at Wembley in July, Usyk was asked how Joshua would get on in a rematch with Dubois and sided with the man he has beaten twice.

“I think if this fight, Joshua Dubois, happened today, I say again, [AJ wins]. Daniel Dubois is a very dangerous opponent. He’s a world champion, a hard puncher. Both are great fighters. I think Joshua is a better boxer, skills, boxer, big champion. Last time Anthony lost, yes, Daniel Dubois beat him, but for me, I more like Anthony Joshua’s style of boxing.”

There has already been a bit of needle in the first head-to-head with Dubois pushing Usyk in the chest, though the Ukrainian simply responded with a smile and says it was a sign of weakness.
