Oleksandr Usyk has shared 24 rounds with both Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.
Usyk first met Joshua in September 2021 when he dethroned the Brit to win the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles, before then repeating that feat when they met in their rematch nearly a year later.
The Ukrainian then took on Fury in May 2024, overcoming ‘The Gypsy King’ to add the WBC belt to his collection and become the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the four-belt era.
Their rematch took place in December after Usyk had vacated the IBF belt, and he once again came out on top, with many feeling that would then pave the way for an all-British showdown between Fury and Joshua.
It is a fight that has constantly been linked over the past decade, and while it wouldn’t be as big as it once could have been due to neither man holding world titles any longer, it is still a clash that would generate a lot of interest.
Those plans were scuppered in January when Fury abruptly announced his retirement, though some fans are still hopeful that he may change his mind and return for a clash with ‘AJ.’
If that were to happen, Usyk has given his prediction for who would come out on top, as he told Boxing King Media which of his former foes he would favour to win.
“Maybe Anthony Joshua. Maybe [on] points.”
For now, Fury remains retired, and Joshua has instead been linked to a shock fight against Youtuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, and ‘The Problem Child’ has now revealed what conversations he has had with ‘AJ’ regarding a fight.
