The pair first came together back in May when a close-fought 12-rounder ended in a points win for Usyk, the former Olympic gold medalist and undisputed cruiserweight champion who has never lost a fight in the professional ring.
It was a stunning left hand in the ninth round which led Fury to fall back towards the ropes and take a standing 8 count which ultimately won the first contest for him.
Fury has vowed he will be better in the rematch and has said that despite the criticism it received for apparently mixed messaging, he will be retaining the same corner team when the pair go at it again in December.
The rematch is for the WBC, WBO and WBA belt after Usyk had to forgo the IBF in order to fulfil this immediate rematch with Fury, rather than take on his mandatory.
“There’s no secret I’m going in there to knock him out because I don’t think I’m not going to get a decision no matter what I do.
I don’t think I’m going to get a boxing decision. So I’m going to have to take out the judges’ hands like I did in America that time. I’ve got to get him out of there.”
In response to these claims, Usyk gave his short, sharp, reaction to JN Media UK.
“It’s only dream.”
The Usyk vs Fury rematch will take place on December 21 in Saudi Arabia.
