After beating Tyson Fury back in May, it would be fair to think that Oleksandr Usyk doesn’t have anything left to achieve in the sport of boxing.

Few people have a resume as strong as the Ukrainian’s. His amateur career ended with him picking up a gold medal back in London 2012, and as soon as he turned over to the professional game he began making his mark.

Within six years he had cleaned out the cruiserweight division and become the undisputed four belt champion as well as claiming the inaugural Muhammad Ali trophy for winning the World Boxing Super Series.

In 2018, he moved up to heavyweight and within just three fights he had claimed three of the four major world titles by beating Anthony Joshua on points.

A successful defence against Joshua, then wins over Daniel Dubois and Fury in May led him to undisputed honours in the banner division within just six fights at heavyweight.

On Saturday, the likeable southpaw enters the ring with Fury once more to defend the three titles he currently owns after having to relinquish the IBF in order to honour this rematch.

A new clip on Sky Sports Boxing’s X page reveals what he plans to do next.

“I’ll try cruiserweight again.”

He was then asked if that was a genuine intention and he calmly replied that it was.

“Yeah, yeah, I try.”

If anyone can do it, Usyk can. Jai Opetaia is currently The Ring Magazine and IBF champion while Gilberto Ramirez holds the WBA and WBO belts and Norair Mikaeljan owns the WBC title.

Before worrying about those fights, Usyk as his hands full with Fury who is very keen to avenge the one and only loss of his own professional career this Saturday in Saudi Arabia.
