Oleksandr Usyk’s Team Responds To Tyson Fury’s Call For A Trilogy Fight

Tyson Fury has continued to say that the only fight he wants if he returns is a trilogy with Oleksandr Usyk.

‘The Gypsy King’ has been retired since January, just weeks after he took his second career loss, and second consecutive defeat to Usyk.

The first fight in April saw him take a 10 count and lose by split decision and the rematch was an even more conclusive points victory for the Ukrainian. Fury was unable to land his power shots and Usyk used his masterful footwork to dance around the ring and keep Fury guessing.

Since then, Usyk has also beaten Daniel Dubois for a second time to regain the fourth world title belt once again. That made him the only ever two-time undisputed heavyweight ruler in the history of the four-belt era.

Despite that, Fury still thinks he could do something different and accomplish something no man has ever done before – beat Usyk in the boxing ring – even though he has not boxed for almost a year and has spent much of that time away from the sport.

Usyk’s advisor, Serhii Lapin, was asked by The Ring if their man was up for a third fight with Fury.

”Theoretically, it’s an interesting option, but for whom? If boxing fans truly support it, then maybe. However, in my opinion, that chapter is already closed.”

Usyk has also been linked with a fight with young rising star Moses Itauma, but right now, his most likely next fight could be with the winner of this weekend’s WBO eliminator between Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley.
