Vergil Ortiz Jr puts his WBC Interim Super Welterweight belt on the ling against Israil Madrimov in a bout that is expected to steal the show this weekend in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The two tough, big punchers co-star in a pick ’em fight that not many will be backing to go the distance. Until his last fight – a close points win against Serhii Bohachuk – Ortiz had ended every one of his 21 wins by stoppage.
Madrimov presents a very tall task, however, with the Uzbek being extremely awkward and durable. He is coming off the first loss of his career after pushing Terence Crawford the distance by being beaten on points therefore losing his WBA World Title.
