Victor Ortiz Predicts Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2: “That’s The Bottom Line”

Former WBC world welterweight champion Victor Ortiz has had his say on the impending rematch between former rival Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao.

It was announced back in February that the legendary duo would meet for the second time at The Sphere in Las Vegas on September 19, over eleven years on from their monumental first encounter.

Mayweather got the job done over the Filipino great at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas back in May of 2015, defeating him via unanimous decision to unify the WBC, WBA and WBO world welterweight titles.

As the boxing world gears up for Mayweather and ‘PacMan’ to do battle once again, Victor Ortiz has spoken out and had his say on what he believes the outcome will be.

Speaking to Seconds Out, Ortiz admitted that he would like Pacquiao to get the job done over his former rival, but claims that Mayweather would not opt to face the Filipino star if he didn’t truly believe he can be victorious once again.

“I heard about that. You know, I’m pulling for Manny but the bottom line is this, Floyd doesn’t take the fight that he thinks he’s gonna lose. So he sticks to somebody like Manny and it’s the fact that they’re gonna do an exhibition, which it may be the case. I don’t know. I would totally put it all on Manny to win, but like I said, Floyd’s not gonna pick a fight that he can’t win.”
