Otto Wallin is best known for pushing Tyson Fury further than just about any other man bar Oleksandr Usyk in the professional ring.
Swedish heavyweight Wallin fought Fury back in 2019 out in Las Vegas. The contest soon turned ugly for Fury, who was cut badly above his eye in the third round and had an open gash for much of the contest.
The blood severely affected his vision but the Brit remained resilient throughout and did enough to get the win on the cards, even though many think he was lucky not to be stopped because of the severity of the cut, which later required 42 stitches.
Fury went on to fight and beat the Deontay Wilder twice and pick up more wins before losing to Usyk for the undisputed crown back in May. The much-anticipated rematch takes place out in Saudi Arabia on December 21 for three of the four world titles after the IBF had to be vacated.
Speaking to Boxing Social, Wallin was asked whether it could go differently for ‘The Gypsy King’ and he agree it could.
“Tyson can definitely turn it around but it was very close the first time. With some luck, he could have won that one. Usyk won the first fight so you have to make him the favourite this time. But it’s going to be a very close fight, it could go either way.”
Wallin picked up a string of victories before losing to Anthony Joshua via stoppage. He returns to the ring to face veteran Brit Derek Chisora on February 8 at Co-op Live in Manchester.
