WBC minimumweight champion Wanheng Menayothin made boxing history earlier today when he out-pointed Pedro Taduran via 12 round decision to not only retain his title but also break Floyd Mayweather’s unbeaten record in Nakhon Sawan,Thailand.

The 32 year-old from Bangkok, extended his unbeaten record to 51-0-(18), with unanimous scores of 117-110, 118-108 and 115-111.

Menayothin secured his place in boxing history by out-boxing the tough southpaw, who fell to 12-2-(9). Menayothin was making the 11th defence of his title. It has to be said that Menayothin’s standard of opponent has not been anywhere near Mayweather’s apart from his last opponent(Conner McGregor) but it still takes some incredible talent and self-discipline to go 51 fights unbeaten.
