Fabio Wardley is looking to make his mark on the heavyweight division this year.

The newly crowned WBO champion did not win his belt in the ring – instead, after becoming mandatory for it following his late knockout of Joseph Parker, he was promoted to full champion when Oleksandr Usyk vacated rather than defend it against him.

Wardley, who also stopped Justis Huni in 2025, has been linked with plenty of names already, from Tyson Fury to Moses Itauma, and has said he is ready to face anyone.

Speaking to iFL TV, Daniel Dubois was also asked if he was keen on a battle with Wardley.

“If they want it, yeah, bring it on, I can’t wait. If Frank makes that fight then I’ll be delighted, yeah. I’ll jump at that opportunity. But yeah who ever steps up I’m ready. I can’t wait to have my first fight of 2026. I’m fresh, I’ve had a good long break. 2026 is about getting a title back.”

Dubois has not fought since August last year when he was stopped by Oleksandr Usyk for the second time in his career. The fight was for the undisputed heavyweight championship and saw him lose the IBF belt he had held for a year, having beaten Fillip Hrgovic and then defended it against Anthony Joshua.

Given how long he has been away, on top of the fact that he is also working with new trainer Tony Sims for the first time, ‘DDD’ may wish to have a tune-up fit before stepping in with the in-form Wardley and at 28, he still has time on his side.
