Fabio Wardley is now on a quest to unify the world heavyweight title belts.

In his last outing back in October at the O2 Arena in London. Wardley came from behind on the cards to knock out the in-form Joseph Parker late on and get the best win of his career. The victory saw him capture the WBO interim heavyweight.

Shortly after that. the great Oleksandr Usyk decided to vacate his WBO belt rather than face his mandatory and so the Ipswich man was elevated to full champion without having to set foot back in the ring.

As well as Parker, Wardley has also beaten the likes of Frazer Clarke, David Adeleye and Justis Huni despite having risen up through the white collar scene before making his mark as a pro.

Wardley is now looking to defend his belt for the first time in 2026, and he revealed that in an ideal world his next fight would be a showdown against unified king Usyk.

Speaking to Boxing King Media, former two-time undisputed ruler Usyk admitted he wasn’t excited by the prospect of a contest with the Brit so will not be the next man he faces.

“This is sport and business. If Parker won, it’s interesting. Win for Wardley, for me not interesting. It’s true. OK, here’s your belt, box, maybe later we fight together, big fight. It’s only my mind.”

Usyk has vowed to fight on and suggested that he would love to share the ring with American puncher Deontay Wilder.
