Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois are just weeks away from squaring off inside the ring.
This is the latest in a long line of all-British world heavyweight title fights and it sees the newly elevated Wardley defend his WBO belt after two good outings in 2025.
In both contests, he appeared to be behind on the cards but won with a late knockout against Justis Huni and then Joseph Parker.
Dubois was last out back in July and was stopped by Oleksandr Usyk for the second time, and that was nearly a year after he knocked out Anthony Joshua to retain his IBF belt, so inactivity may be a factor in the fight with Wardley.
Speaking to Seconds Out, Joshua’s victim Jermaine Franklin revealed he is now training alongside Dubois with Don Charles and, having sparred Wardley, gave his view on the contest.
“I came down to spar with Fabio a couple of times. I haven’t been sparring with Daniel but I have a lot of respect for him. Daniel is a great fighter, I’m expecting them to put on a great show. It’s kinda hard, Fabio has a ton of heart, even if you establish dominance early, we’ve seen him come back a ton of times, I think in that fight you gotta stay smart and make sure you’re up on the cards.”
Whoever comes out on top will potentially be able to go on to huge defences against the likes of Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua as well as unified champion Usyk, who has said he has just three fights left and hopes one ot be the winner of this contest.
