Frank Warren has been around boxing for more than 30 years, so he knows a talent when he sees one.

With his company Queensberry Promotions, Warren has promoted and managed world champions and top-ranked fighters, including fighters such as Naseem Hamed, Joe Calzaghe, Amir Khan and Ricky Hatton.

In recent times, he has had many of the top heavyweights in the world, having worked with the likes of Tyson Fury to get him to a world title more than once, and Daniel Dubois, whom he also steered to the IBF championship last year.

Now he has Moses Itauama under his charge and is building him well ahead of a likely world title shot next year.

Speaking at the press conference to announce his next fight with Jermaine Franklin, Warren says that Itauma is the best talent he has seen at such a young age.

“In all my years in boxing Moses Itauma is the best talent I’ve seen at such a young age. Jermaine Franklin is as tough as they come in the heavyweight division, but I have no doubt Moses will pass this test with flying colours.”

Itauma has beaten nine of his 13 opponents inside the first two rounds, including Whyte last time out, who went the full 12 rounds with Franklin back in November 2022 and could only manage a majority decision win.

This clash with the American is another good test of where he is at, with some thinking Itauma will finally get the rounds he needs to keep learning.
