This week, it was suggested that Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley might be on track to face one another, and now Frank Warren has spoken on the subject.

Warren promotes both men and has been with Dubois since day one. In that time, he has seen him rise and fall on a number of occasions. After knocking out the first few men he faced, he came up against Joe Joyce, who stopped him with a broken eye socket.

But ‘DDD’ soon got back to winning ways and had his first world title shot against Oleksandr Usyk. He lost by knockout, and again when the men fought for a second time in August 2025, but in between times, he knocked out Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua on his way to becoming the IBF world champion.

Wardley is the current WBO ruler. He stopped Justis Huni then Joseph Parker last year and was elevated to full champion and is now looking to make his maiden defence. Derek Chisora recently revealed that he had heard the two would be fighting next.

Speaking to Seconds Out, Warren flatly denied that but said other negotiations are ongoing.

“Nope, I’d like to see it, but that’s not done at all. There are lots of talks going on as far as both of the fighters are concerned but we’ve not done that.”

Wardley has said he is looking for the biggest fights possible this year, and is hoping to be back in the ring in April.
