Following the news, broken early this morning, that claimed Dillian Whyte failed a drug test three days before his recent win over Oscar Rivas, the WBC - whose Interim heavyweight title and mandatory contender position the Londoner secured with the gruelling victory - have responded.

"The WBC knows exactly the same as the public," their President Mauricio Sulaiman told me. "We have reached out to the BBBofC to find out if the news is true regarding a positive result on Dillian Whyte."

Furthernore, a reliable unnamed source has confirmed to Seconds Out that the WBC has received a formal protest from the Rivas camp regarding the gloves used by Whyte on Saturday at the O2 as well. "There has been an allegation," our source stated, "that the gloves worn by Whyte during the contest were not the same gloves selected by him at the glove selection ceremony before the fight.

"We are in the early stages of investigation and gathering information from various sources."

A challenging time indeed for Dillian Whyte.
