Dillian Whyte could be about to reignite his career in double quick time despite a heavy loss to Moses Itauma last time out.

Whyte is a former world title challenger who is often involved in entertaining fights with plenty of back and forth and a number of knockdowns.

Back in August, however, he didn’t look his usual self as he was knocked down early and then stopped inside just the first two minutes of his contest with rising 20-year-old heavyweight star Itauma.

In the past, he has beaten the likes of Derek Chisora and Joseph Parker and shared the ring with Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, so has always operated at a high level. He is now 37-years-old and a veteran of 35 fight camps, so is into the autumn of his career, whatever he decides to do.

It seems that could be to face a former two-weight world champion who has now offered the Brixton man a chance to settle their long-running war of words, according to the CEO of AK Promotions, former world champion Amir Khan, who told The Ring Magazine it could happen next year.

“We’ve offered Dillian Whyte the fight with Lawrence Okolie. There’s bad blood between the pair of them and it is a fight fans around the world have been calling for for a very long time.

“Lawrence is ranked No. 1 with the WBC. Dillian was chasing that belt down for years. We’re offering him a lifeline, a last shot to become world champion. We’ve made a very strong offer for him to fight Okolie and we hope he’ll accept the challenge.”

This could indeed by a huge final roll of the dice for Whyte, but would not be an easy fight. Okolie is a former cruiserweight turned bridgerweight ruler who is now settled into heavyweight.

Next up he is set to feature on the Amir Khan-promoted show in Lagos, Nigeria on December 19 live on DAZN but he has been calling Whyte out for years.
