Dillian Whyte has finally spoken for the first time since his fight with Moses Itauma.

Whyte’s future in the sport was uncertain after he suffered a first round knockout defeat to rising star Itauma when they met in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia earlier this month.

The Londoner has been inactive in recent years, with the fight against Itauma serving as just his fourth fight since unsuccessfully challenging Tyson Fury for his WBC heavyweight title at Wembley Stadium in April 2022.

Due to now being 37-years-old, many fans and analysts have said that now is the right time to retire, which would see him call time on a career that featured victories over the likes of Joseph Parker, Derek Chisora and Alexander Povetkin.

Whyte has now had his say though, posting on social media to reveal that he has no plans to hang up the gloves just yet.

“This is not where my story ends. I may have lost this fight, but not the fire that built me. Thank you to everyone who’s been standing by me through the highs and the lows. I’ll be back.”

With Whyte announcing that he will continue fighting, it raises the question of who his next target may potentially be, with the heavyweight division currently home to fighters such as Filip Hrgovic, Martin Bakole and Lawrence Okolie who could all be potential options.

Former rival Chisora believes he knows the perfect opponent for ‘The Bodysnatcher’ though, after stating that he should have an all-British battle against Joe Joyce.
