Dillian Whyte has been left with plenty to think about after his loss to Moses Itauma.
Whyte returned to action last weekend against the much hyped 20-year-old knockout artist Itauma. He lasted less than two minutes after being caught high on the side of the head and then again with a big hook that sent him to the canvas and led the referee to wave off the fight.
Whyte is now 37-years-old and a veteran of the division who has fought everyone from Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua to Derek Chisora and Joseph Parker.
Speaking to Second Out, Parker revealed that had a call with Whyte post-fight and he is now taking time to consider his options, not ruling anything out.
“He’s fine. Every fighter respects every fighter. He went out there, he did he best and he got caught, it’s one of those things. It’s boxing. You’re either gonna do the hunting or get hunted. You can’t make excuses, you take it on board and then you’re going to see if you want to continue boxing or not.
“He says he’s not going to make a rash decision straight away. He’s going to sit down with his team and his family and decide whether it’s appropriate or not. He’s done well in his career. He’s been in with everyone, he’s been in with me. He’s done everything he can in boxing, he’s achieved a lot in being, he’s probably made some great money and he can look after himself and enjoy himself and his family.”
Whyte must now decide whether or not to walk away or if he thinks he had any more left in the tank, with Chisora suggesting he have one more against Joe Joyce.
