Dillian Whyte Sparring Partner For Moses Itauma Delivers Honest Prediction: “This Is Dangerous”

Moses Itauma vs. Dillian Whyte is just days away.

The two heavyweights will collide in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, in a fight that is set to have big implications for the banner division.

Itauma is unbeaten at 12-0 in his career, 10 wins coming by knockout, having stopped Mike Balogun, Demsey McKean and Mariusz Wach in his last three fights, all of them inside the opening two rounds.

It has led to the likes of Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk to label the 20-year-old as the future of the division, meaning Whyte appears to have a big task ahead of him this weekend.

Whyte has been inactive in recent years, competing just three time since a loss to Fury in April 2022, and it means Itauma is viewed as a big favourite heading into Saturday’s battle.

One of Whyte’s sparring partners appears to disagree with those odds though, as Ty Mitchell told IFL TV that he sees it as a 50-50 bout.

“I was out in Portugal and sparring Dillian. He was good, he seems in amazing shape, his mind is in the right place. It’s not going to be no easy feat because we know how good Moses is, but it’s a far more 50-50 fight than what people think.

“As we’re getting closer people are starting to realise Dillian is no mug. It will be a good fight. It will be very dangerous for Dillian in the first five rounds because Moses is so quick and explosive, but the longer the fight goes on the more it leans. If the fight get stopped in the first half of the fight, it’s more likely to be Dillian [getting stopped], but anything after that I favour Dillian to win.”

Whether or not Mitchell is accurate with his assessment will be revealed when Itauma and Whyte collide on Saturday.
