Ryan Garcia is set to return to action in 2025.

‘King Ry’ was last in action in April when he caused a big upset by knocking Devin Haney down multiple times on his way to a unanimous decision victory at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The fight was surrounded in controversy though, beginning when Garcia missed weight by over three pounds, and then testing positive for a banned substance, leading the result to be changed to a no contest.

Garcia was subsequently given a 12-month ban due to his failed tests for Ostarine, meaning he is able to once again box from April 2025.

There are plenty of viable options out there for the 26-year-old upon his return, and it appears that he may have his sights on a new target following the action over the weekend.

Jaron Ennis defended his IBF welterweight title against Karen Chukhadzhian, winning the bout by unanimous decision but not looking as electric as some fans were expecting.

The performance from ‘Boots’ led to Garcia taking to social media, claiming he would be able to stop Ennis should they meet.

“Boots will get knocked out by me. This ref still sucks. And Eddie [Hearn] gotta stop calling his fighters legends prematurely.”

Ennis hit back at Garcia in his post-fight press conference, saying he would happily face him next and would knock him out.

“Just bring him on [next]. Come on, all he does is talk and tweet, you know what I’m saying. I’m here to make history. I guarantee you I put him out, for sure.”

Garcia wasn’t the only fighter to give a bold opinion on the performance of Ennis against Karen Chukhadzhian, with pound-for-pound king Terence Crawford also sharing his thoughts on the display.
