Jake Paul has upset a lot of boxing figures with his recent fight against Mike Tyson.
They met in November in a controversial showdown that split a lot of opinion within the sport, with Tyson stepping back in the ring for his first professional contest since way back in 2005.
At 58-years-old, ‘Iron Mike’ struggled with his much younger opponent, as ‘The Problem Child’ dominated the majority of the action and won by unanimous decision after eight two-minute rounds.
Tyson revealed after the fight that he almost died back in the summer whilst preparing for the bout, which led to it being postponed from its initial date of July.
One man who is far from happy with Paul for his treatment of Tyson is undisputed light-heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev, who called out the Youtuber-turned-boxer in the aftermath.
Beterbiev – who has 20 knockouts from 21 wins – has now explained to Boxing King Media just why he called out Paul, and what he would do to him inside a boxing ring.
“My favourite boxers are Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson. When Jake Paul got the win over Mike Tyson, my first reaction was ‘I want to do something… you want real boxing, let’s do it. I want to pay him back.’
“I don’t like this [Tyson losing]. I know it’s business, if you can call it that. [Me and Paul would go] a couple rounds. [I would] just box … I already say everything. Send location.”
Female boxing star Claressa Shields has also called out Paul for a fight, needing just two word to sum up how she thinks it would go – stoppage, KO.
Beterbiev’s plan for Paul must take a backseat as he prepares to defend his four belts in a rematch with Dmitry Bivol on February 22.
