The one man to have ever stopped Chris Eubank Jr. has now predicted how the fight with Conor Benn might go.

Eubank has fought 37 times in all and lost three times, twice on points to fellow former world champions George Groves and Billy Joe Saunders, but only once by stoppage.

That was against former WBO light-middleweight champion Liam Smith in early 2023, not long after he had boiled down to what many think was an unhealthy weight ahead of his proposed fight with Benn.

That fell through when Benn failed a drug test late in the day, but Eubank proceeded to fight Smith and was knocked out inside four rounds. Six months later the pair went at it again, and this time it was Eubank who secured a stoppage win.

Speaking to Boxing News, Smith was asked for a prediction ahead of the contest at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and went with the man who beat him.

“I’m not 100% sold on the winner but I’ll probably head towards Eubank on points. Just size-wise. Conor is small, I think Chris might rob a points win, he’ll jab, he’ll be cagey. That’s his style now.

“He’s not the Chris of old where he loves a fight and is ferocious and loves a high work rate. He’s cagey, he holds a lot, and I don’t think he’ll give Conor a chance.”

This time around, Eubank will have weight on his side as Benn is coming up two divisions to 160lbs for the contest on April 26th and many think that is what will be the difference on the night.
