World Champion Says He Does ‘Everything Better’ Than Terence Crawford: “I Could Make It Look Easy”

Terence Crawford is considered by many to be the very best fighter in the sport of boxing.

The 36-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska has an undefeated record of 41 fights spanning four weight classes, each of which he has been a world champion. The American was also the first male fighter to become four-belt undisputed in two divisions.

Most recently, he beat former titlist Israil Madrimov over the distance to win the WBA Super-Welterweight belt. There is now a long list of challengers angling to fight ‘Bud’ as he plots his next move, one of which is current IBF Welterweight Champion Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis.

Ennis benefitted from Crawford moving up in weight, becoming the titleholder but, at the same time, missing out on a legacy-defining fight. He has since said he is willing to also make to jump to 154 pounds to make it happen. If it comes off, he told TheOnlyKayla that it could make it look easier than people think.

“Whatever he thinks he can do, I can do better.

I’m smart, I’m sharp. I’m trying to tell y’all, when I fight someone that’s better it’s gonna make me better. People don’t understand that. You fight better competition it makes you better, it makes you think, you go to the next level and the fight might even be easier than what you think, than what other people think, because I know what I’m gonna do.”

The 27-year-old from Philadelphia is undefeated in 32 fights and has produced 29 early finishes. Like Crawford, he can switch hit and is known for calculated attacks. Next up is an ordered title defence against Karen Chukhadzhian, a man he beat just last year to win the interim belt.

As for Crawford, he is in negotiations for a unification bout against Sebastian Fundora, but may decide to skip the opportunity in search of a fight with Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez up at super-middleweight. He has shown little interest in the Ennis match-up.
