Zab Judah has revealed who he believes are the five greatest fighters of all time.
Former undisputed welterweight champion Judah entered the paid ranks back in 1996 after drawing the curtain on his stellar amateur career. He would go on to win world titles in two weight classes during his tenure, racking up 44 victories along the way.
Judah’s victory over countryman Cory Spinks back in February of 2005 saw him capture the undisputed welterweight championship, although he would make just one defence of his crown against Cosme Rivera several months later.
In an interview with DJ Vlad, Judah revealed the five fighters that he believes are the greatest of all time.
“I’m trying to see who I put first under me, I’m trying to see. Let’s see, Mike Tyson, Pernell Whitaker, Marvin Hagler, Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali, legends.”
Tyson and Ali are both considered to be two of the greatest heavyweights ever, The legendary duo took the sport by storm during their respective eras, capturing world honours on multiple occasions along the way.
‘Sweet Pea’ Whitaker is often regarded as being the greatest defensive boxer of all time, winning world titles in four divisions including the undisputed lightweight championship which he captured back in August of 1990 when he stopped Juan Nazario in the opening round of their clash.
Middleweight legend Hagler rose to stardom during one of the greatest eras in boxing history, reigning as the undisputed champion for seven years between 1980 and 1987. He made twelve successful defences of his crown before he was eventually dethroned by Sugar Ray Leonard in their controversial bout.
As for Robinson, the Georgia-native fought on no less than 201 occasions during his storied career which spanned between 1940 and 1965. Robinson reigned as the world welterweight champion for five years between 1946 and 1951 before he eventually made the move up to middleweight, winning the world championship five times within a nine year period.
