Boxing fans are eagerly the intriguing showdown between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford.
The pound-for-pound stars will clash on Saturday September 13, with Canelo set to defend his undisputed super-middleweight championship against the 37-year-old from Omaha.
The fight itself was announced just a few moments after Canelo prevailed in his May 3 showdown with former IBF super-middleweight champion William Scull to become the undisputed champion at 168lbs for the second time in his professional career.
Former undisputed welterweight champion Zab Judah has weighed in on the upcoming mega-fight between Canelo and ‘Bud’, with a number of fans and analysts dubbing it as the ‘biggest fight in boxing’.
Speaking to ESNEWS, Judah was asked to pick who he believes will prevail on September 13, as he admits he is leaning towards his countryman Crawford to get the job done.
“Crawford, no hesitation. Big Bud, big Bud, we’re gonna have to throw Canelo off, we’re gonna have to pack him up. It’s a very big challenge but for his skill, and the way he’s adapted to the size, brother when I seen them stand toe-to-toe and side-by-side, I said game over, Terence Crawford, and don’t be surprised if he stops him, I’m telling you, don’t be surprised if Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford stops Canelo.”
There have been concerns for Crawford, who is making the move up to 168lbs having spent the majority of his career campaigning at the welterweight limit of 147lbs, but the 37-year-old appears confident going into his battle with the Mexican superstar, in what could be one of the greatest single victories for a fighter in the history of boxing.
