Next month, Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol are set to battle it out to become the first undisputed light-heavyweight champion since Roy Jones Jr.
The two champions are undefeated and have looked largely untroubled in the ring, Beterbiev the monster with a 100% knockout ratio, Bivol the master with never a wasted moment against frustrated opponents.
It’s a clash of styles fans can’t wait to watch, and most have an opinion as to which will prove more effective on the night. Top heavyweight Zhilei Zhang firmly believes that power will triumph, telling FightHype that he backs Beterbiev inside the distace.
“I think that’s a great fight, I will definitely stay up and watch that fight. Beterbiev is better on the record and better in the ring. If that fight happens, Beterbiev will hurt him and probably end this fight with a knockout.”
Asked specifically if Bivol’s footwork could pose problems for the knockout artist, Zhang – who is coming off a statement win over hard-hitting Deontay Wilder – said no.
“I think Beterbiev’s power will overwhelm Bivol’s in-and-out footwork and skill set. I think Beterbiev is way too strong for this division.”
The four belt clash takes place on October 12 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
