Top heavyweight contender Zhilei Zhang has offered his ‘bold’ prediction as to how the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury goes.
Fury and Usyk first met in May in the first undisputed heavyweight championship bout for over two decades. The action swayed back and forth throughout, with the Ukrainian starting well but the Brit taking control in the middle rounds.
Usyk found another level thereafter, hurting Fury and knocking him around the ring in the ninth round in which many felt he could have won by stoppage. Fury rallied and heard the final bell only to lose out by split decision.
The rematch is set for December 21 back in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and the boxing world is once again split on who will come out on top.
Zhang, however, told Box Nation he is confident that Usyk gets the knockout this time around.
“I would say ‘and still’. Because in my opinion he had his number in the first fight and he just found the method to beat Tyson Fury. To have a bold prediction, I think he’s going to finish him.”
Fury himself has said that he will come for the knockout this time around, and he has previous form in that department having gone the distance with Deontay Wilder when they first met before scoring stoppages in the second and third bouts.
