Dave Allen knows what it’s like to be hit by Filip Hrgovic and has now predicted how he will get on against Moses Itauma.

Allen fought Hrgovic back in May and the Croatian contender made a big statement when he won inside three rounds. Hrgovic started well and soon began landing big shots on Allen, who was unable to stay away and failed to answer any of the questions asked of him.

Midway through the third stanza, Allen’s trainer, Jamie Moore, made the decision to wave the towel to stop his man from taking more punishment.

Hrgovic has just one loss in his career and that was when he was stopped by then-IBF champion Daniel Dubois back in June 2024.

Since then, he has beaten Joe Joyce and David Adeleye and is now set to take on the rising star of the division in 21-year-old Itauma.

Speaking to Matchroom Boxing, Allen predicted an early night for the Brit.

“I think Itauma stops Hrgovic in two or three, I really do. I think he knocks Hrgovic out cold. I do, I think he does. As good as Hrgovic is, and he was miles too good for me, I just think Itauma is all wrong for him.

“Hrgovic stands up tall, straight shots. I think Itauma will just be miles too fast for him. Hrgovic is going to come and have a go, Hrgovic is going to try and knock Itauma out, which is great, I just think Itauma is going to hit him first.”

Itauma has fought 14 times so far, winning 12 of them by knockout, including Dillian Whyte with an impressive first-round KO. Last time out, he became the first man to stop American Jermaine Franklin, who had previously taken both Whyte and Anthony Joshua the full 12-round distance.

Another win here would surely put him in the frame for the world title he has been chasing since his teenage years.
