Tony Bellew knows what it is like to share a ring with Oleksandr Usyk and has now given his view on who might be able to beat him.
Following back-to-back wins over David Haye, Bellew took on Usyk at the Manchester Arena back in November 2018 in what was his last ever fight.
The two fought for the undisputed cruiserweight titles, and although Bellew started well, he eventually tired and was knocked out in the eighth round.
After that, Usyk moved up to heavyweight, where he has remained undefeated after wins over the likes of Derek Chisora, and having twice beaten Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury and Daniel Dubois on his way to becoming the first-ever two-time undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
He has now vacated the WBO title but takes on kickboxing champion Rico Verhoeven on 23 May at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, in what is only Verhoeven’s second ever boxing match.
Speaking to Seconds Out, Bellew was asked if any man out there has a chance of beating Usyk and he didn’t hesitate to answer.
“Nope, absolutely nobody.”
Usyk has admitted he may only have one or two fights left after Verhoeven, and could target the winner of the WBO fight between Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois if he wanted to become a three-time undisputed ruler.
In the meantime, he has also been working in camp with Anthony Joshua and has been helping him on his way back to the top and a potential showdown with Fury later this year.
