Speaking to Seconds Out, Frank Warren confirms he has made an offer, in writing, for his man Billy Joe Saunders to unify against Callum Smith
In a soon-to-be published video interview with our YouTube channel, Frank Warren has confirmed he has made a formal written offer for Super WBA super-middleweight champion Callum Smith, recently seen pounding Hassan N’Dam, to unify against his man Billy Joe Saunders, who defeated Shefat Isufi for the vacant WBO belt last month.
After Warren told another outlet that he has extended a 50-50 purse offer to Smith, the fighter’s manager, Joe Gallagher responded via Twitter, saying, "I have received no offer."
Warren, speaking today, informed us of developments. "I saw Gallagher’s tweet," he said. "Well now I’ve sent him an offer, in writing. So you’ve got your offer now. Accept the offer, Joe."
Warren is keen on an all-British unification clash that would certainly capture the imagination. "Bill wants it, Liam wants it," he added. "I’d like to put it on in the UK in September."
