Derek Chisora Names Heavyweight Star He Wouldn’t Dare Fight: “I’m Not That Stupid”

Derek Chisora is teasing another return to the ring but has stated categorically that he will not face one rising star.

‘Del Boy’ has been a loyal servant to the sport and has long been a fan favourite for his all-action style, as well as his larger-than-life personality outside the ring.

He wears his famous ‘War’ mantra with pride, and though he promised he would retire once he got to 50 fights, he has not yet followed through on that.

The Zimbabwe-born Londoner will turn 43 before the year is out and last fought in April when he lost over 12 rounds to American Deontay Wilder, which came more than 12 months after his last win over Otto Wallin in February 2025.

He has been in plenty of hard fights, including 14 losses and 4 by knockout, so has plenty of miles on the clock.

Speaking to Fight Your Corner, Chisora admitted that he is not the fighter he once was and will therefore not go anywhere near one young British challenger.

“Nobody gets better. I’m not going to get in there with Moses am I? Definitely not with Moses. F**k that, keep your money Frank, I don’t want it.”

Moses Itauma recently stepped up to take on Fillip Hrgovic in his maiden world title fight, and despite winning every round, he ran out of gas in the ninth and was stopped by the more experienced man. He will be back, with many still tipping him for the top, but at this stage Chisora is wise to avoid him.
