Daniel Dubois has weighed in with his prediction for the upcoming heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.
Dubois is the current WBO champion, having taken the belt off Fabio Wardley in what was an epic battle in his last fight back in April.
Despite being behind on the cards come the 11th round, and having been knocked down twice early on in the contest, he began to land his own big shots when they mattered and forced the referee to stop in and save Wardley from further punishment.
While some think Wardley should have been given the chance to make the final bell, others believe he should have been stopped earlier.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Dubois was asked who he thinks will be victorious in December when Joshua and Fury fight for the WBA title in Cardiff, and he sided with ‘The Gypsy King.’
“I think Fury. Everybody’s been talking about this fight for so such a long time. It’d be good to see them both get in the ring. Both two legends of British Boxing.”
He also expressed his desire to fight his Queensberry Promotions stablemate, having already knocked out Joshua for the IBF crown in August 2024.
“What a fight that would be, you know. Me and AJ all over again, that sort of magnitude, that’s what boxing is about really. Frank would love it, he’s got both of us, I’ve got to come through my next fight. Anything’s possible.”
Before thinking about any unification, Dubois must take on Wardley in their rematch on October 17, when he will likely have to weather plenty of aggression from Wardley early on.
