Ben Davison Reacts To Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua Deal After Training Both Men

Ben Davison has given his unique perspective to the upcoming showdown between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

This heavyweight battle is finally lined up to take place later this year after the pair have been linked to one another for close to a decade.

Davison is perhaps better placed than most to discuss the clash, as he was the man Fury went to when he was looking to get back in action following time away to deal with mental health and addiction problems following his win over Wladimir Klitschko in 2015.

Davison got him back in shape and back to winning ways and then coached him to his first draw with Deontay Wilder before Fury left and went to work with Sugar Hill Steward.

Davison also linked up with Joshua ahead of his fifth-round stoppage victory over Otto Wallin in December 2023, before then knocking out former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in two rounds, before he was stopped by Daniel Dubois in September 2024 and the pair parted ways.

Speaking to The Ring Magazine, Davison was asked if it would be hard to see Fury and Joshua fight.

“It’s not a hard one. There’s a rivalry, but they’re in business together. They’re going to earn a fortune.

“They’re too quality, experienced fighters, that’s who they are, that’s what they love to be honest with you, and this is the biggest stage of all.

“When the fight comes round, it’s going to stop the country, and it’s a huge part of their legacy, so in a way I’m buzzing for them both.”

Joshua must first get through Kristian Prenga in July before finally stepping into the ring with Fury, who beat Arslanbek Makmudov back in April.
