Chris Eubank Jr Called Out By British Rival: “He Wouldn’t Dare Fight Me”

A British super middleweight has issued a direct challenge to Chris Eubank Jr. if he is to return to action later this year, as suggested.

Eubank Jr is currently taking time out of the ring to get back to full health following a 12-round unanimous points loss to Conor Benn in their rematch last November.

Many suspect that the Brighton fighter was weight-drained for the contest, given his lacklustre showing and as a result of being well below his usual weight for so long.

Eubank has since had twins and is now 36 years old so many wondered whether he might call time on his career, but he recently announced that he is a promotional free agent.

It was suggested by Fight Club on X that If Troy Williamson beats Callum Simpson in their rematch on the BBC, he could be a good comeback opponent for Eubank, who seems more suited to the super middleweight division at this stage in his career.

Williamson then replied and did not mince his words.

“We both know he wouldn’t dare take this fight. 1. He’ll say he’s looking for massive money fights only. 2. He wants a world title. I’d ruin both them plans for him.

“Like I said before his best days are behind him and that’s not disrespecting him! He’s had a great career.”

Williamson himself is 34, but has held the British and Commonwealth super-middleweight titles since December 2025 when he stopped Simpson in Leeds.

He also held the European super-middleweight title, but Eubank has instead been linked with a fight with Michael Zerafa in Australia later in the year.
