Tyson Fury Manager Gives Big Update On Start Time For Anthony Joshua Fight

There continues to be issues to resolve around the Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury fight later this year.

After many years of back and forth, and then months of final negotiations, Fury vs. Joshua was finally confirmed recently for December 11 at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. That is despite broadcaster Netflix pushing for it to take place in the US in order to catch the largest global audience.

Since the announcement, there have been rumours the fight could still fall through, as Eddie Hearn and Joshua insist that Dana White must not be involved, while the UFC and Zuffa Boxing man himself has insisted he is. One thing that has been confirmed is that both men are signed up for VADA testing ahead of the fight.

Speaking to Playbook Boxing, Fury’s manager Spencer Brown has admitted there are now also disagreements over the start time for the fight.

“I think 2am is far too late. I think that the general public in England will want to watch it in the pubs, the clubs, you know, around each other’s houses.

“There’ll be a party atmosphere. And I just think it needs to be earlier. Simple as that. It’s all in negotiation at the moment, but we think it shouldn’t be at 2am. 99% of people would tell you that.”

Few British fight fans would argue with Brown. Although both men are now past their best, this is still set to be the biggest fight the UK has ever seen, and the winner will become a three-time world champion as the WBA belt will be on the line, with more world title fights potentially on the undercard.
