Tyson Fury Trainer Sugar Hill Steward Reveals How They Are Dealing With Anthony Joshua Delay

Sugar Hill Steward has been sharing his feelings about the delayed mega fight between his man Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

Fire and Joshua have had careers running in parallel for more than 15 years. Both have become two-time world champions and global stars of the sport, but have not yet shared a ring apart from very early sparring sessions long before they made headlines.

They have somewhat mirrored each other in recent years in that both men lost their belts to Oleksandr Usyk, and neither of them failed to win them back in immediate rematches.

While Fury took a year off, Joshua went on to get stopped by Daniel Dubois, then knocked out Jake Paul late last year and, after a sticky start that saw him put down twice, he KOed Kristian Prenga in July, a day after Fury forced Mariusz Wach to retire on his stool.

The pair were expected to announce their fight soon after, but as of yet nothing is official.

Speaking to talkSPORT Boxing, Fury’s trainer Sugar Hill was asked how he felt about the delays to the fight being announced.

“That situation doesn’t bother me. The best way I know how to deal with it is I don’t think about it, honestly. It’s not a worry to me. There are so many moving pieces involved; I don’t want to have knowledge of all the stuff going on.

“Everybody has something to say, they wanna put something in play. It’s too much stress. I enjoy the training part, the teaching. I’m pretty familiar with all aspects of boxing, and I’ve done all of it, I’d just rather do the training part, it’s less stressful.”

The sticking point has been the location of the fight, with Joshua apparently pushing for the UK, but Netflix and Turki Alalsheikh holding firm to stage it in the United States for a more global audience.

Despite the ongoing saga, Fury’s promoter Frank Warren has revealed his man is already out in Miami in camp, preparing for the fight.
