Tyson Fury appears to have moved in from the long-awaited showdown with Anthony Joshua.
This saga has been going on for more than a decade, but in the last year or so it really seemed to be reaching a final conclusion, with both men set to meet in the ring.
To everyone in the boxing world, it is the fight that makes the most sense – neither of the former two-time world champions has a belt, both are swiftly approaching 40 and the end of their careers, and neither could earn more money anywhere than with this contest.
However, despite both talking it up and having final tune-ups in July, as of yet they have been unable to agree on a location, with Fury wanting New York, while Joshua is adamant it must be in the UK, and so nothing has been signed.,
As a result, Fury has come out on social media and claimed he is now looking for another opponent for his next fight.
“So it looks like ‘AJ’ has s**t his pants, yet again. After 11 years he’s finally s**t his pants yet again. So this would only lead me to a fight with Oleksandr Usyk, Oleksandr, you’re his trainer and his sensei and you know he’s a weak-minded piece of s**t , and he’d never fight the Gypsy King, which you’ve had the guts to do twice.
“You know how difficult it is in there. Listen, you got the decision twice, fair play to you. Well let’s do it again, let’s run it back in November. The ball is now back in your court. Do you want to fight me, this year, 2026, or are you calling it quits? Let me know because I’m now looking for a new opponent.”
Usyk has already soundly beaten Fury twice on points and has since vacated all of his belts. Earlier in the year, he insisted he has one fight left but as of yet he has not announced anything, though it is unlikely he would entertain a third fight with a man he has already conclusively beaten.
