British Hall Of Famer Slams Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury Potentially Taking Place In Las Vegas

Anthony Joshua‘s fight with Tyson Fury is strongly rumoured to be taking place in Las Vegas, and that has enraged one British Hall of Famer.

Joshua and Tyson is the heavyweight fight that fans have wanted to see for the last decade plus. It pits two of the best of their generation and two former unified world champions against one another in an almighty battle to secure their legacy, which is why most fans believe it should take place in the UK.

Before the first bell, however, both men must win their final warm-up fights. Joshua returns to the ring for the first time since his December knockout of Jake Paul when he takes on Kristian Prenga in late July.

Just a day before, Fury takes on Mariusz Wach in a second tune-up following his win over Arlsandbek Makmudov in April, which was his first fight after spending all of 2025 in retirement.

Speaking on his own YouTube channel, former world super middleweight champion Carl Froch gave short shrift to the idea of the fight taking place Stateside.

“All the noise around this fight now leans towards the fight happening in the States. I’ve got to be honest, that is an absolute f***ing p**s take and out of order.

“You’ve got two British fighters, former world champions, fighting in the biggest fight in British history, and it’s not going to be on British soil. You’re just taking the piss out of the fans.

“There’s nobody really who can agree, other than for money, that this fight should be happening over there. They’ve both made over 100 million, they’re both flying financially, What’s an extra 10 million when you’ve got 150 million in the bank? I’m sure it makes no difference.

“It’s about honouring the fans. Honouring the people who have been there from the start of your career, people who have bought tickets time and time again after you’ve been beat up, after you lost your titles, after you tried to come back, after you said a few things that have pi**ed people off. The fans have stuck by the side of Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, through thick and thin.”

Given the size of the fight, it will need to take place in a stadium. Eddie Hearn has claimed it is contractually obliged to take place in the UK, and that it can only move to the US if agreed by Joshua’s team.
