Tyson Fury’s return to the ring has been confirmed as he prepares for a blockbuster showdown with Anthony Joshua later in the year.
The two-time world heavyweight champion last appeared back in April when he comprehensively outpointed Russia’s Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
Fury then signed a deal to face long-term domestic rival Joshua, with reports suggesting the duo will finally do battle before the end of 2026 in what has been described as the biggest fight in British boxing history.
After it was revealed that Fury will have one more ‘warm-up’ bout before he faces Joshua, the 37-year-old’s opponent has now been announced.
‘The Gypsy King’ is set to face veteran Polish heavyweight Mariusz Wach on July 24 at the Max Muay Thai Stadium in Pattaya, Thailand.
Wach has faced a number of British heavyweights throughout the course of his 52-fight career with his most recent outing on UK soil coming in July of 2024 when he was stopped by Moses Itauma in the 2nd round of their clash at the O2 Arena in London.
The 46-year-old is perhaps best known for unsuccessfully challenging Wladimir Klitschko for the unified world heavyweight championship in November 2012, a bout he lost via unanimous decision.
Whilst his clash with Wach is expected to be nothing more than a formality, Fury will have all eyes on Riyadh when Anthony Joshua makes his own return to the ring on July 25 in a scheduled bout with the hard-hitting Kristian Prenga.
