Eddie Hearn Names Who Fabio Wardley Could Fight Next After Dubois Loss: “He Wants All The Smoke”

Eddie Hearn has some ideas about who Fabio Wardley could fight when he returns to the ring following his KO loss to Daniel Dubois.

The Ipswich man was seeking revenge and to win back the WBO belt he lost to his fellow Brit earlier in the year when he was stopped in a thrilling encounter inside 11 rounds.

This fight went the same way though, only quicker, with now two-time world heavyweight champion ‘DDD’ landing a huge right hand that dropped his rival inside the first 20 seconds.

Wardley never really recovered and was stopped on his feet in the second round for what was the second time in his career.

Speaking to iFL TV, Hearn was asked whether his man David Adeleye could fight Wardley in a rematch of their October 2023 encounter.

“Yep, it’s a fight that could happen. Adeleye is up for all the smoke. I think Adeleye is going to be a real problem for the heavyweight division, if we can get him firing, get him some moment, I’m looking forward to getting him some big fights.”

The first fight was for the British, Commonwealth and WBO European heavyweight belts on the undercard of Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou in Riyadh and saw Wardley win by seventh round knockout.

Adeleye was knocked down earlier in the same round and beat the count only to rise to another barrage from Wardley that forced the referee to step in, much to his protest.

Wardley has vowed that he will be back and will learn from his mistakes, so a rematch with Adeleye could well be a good route back.
