Anthony Joshua has faced the media for the first time ahead of his proposed fight with Tyson Fury later in the year.

Joshua has been out of action since December, when he took more rounds than expected to get rid of the former YouTuber Jake Paul. The first half of the fight was largely an exercise in Paul staying away from Joshua’s big right hand, and as soon as he failed to do that, he was caught, stopped and left with a badly broken jaw.

At the end of the year, Joshua was then visiting friends and family in Nigeria when he was involved in a collision that tragically saw him lose two of his close circle. Because of that, he has only recently returned to the gym and will next fight in July when he takes on Kristian Prenga.

In a recent press conference covered by The Guardian, when asked about his response to Fury’s comments on his last world title fight ending with a knockout, he was quick to hit back.

“We could all talk about what Usyk has done to [Fury]. We can talk about loads of comparisons, but for him to talk about Dubois’s success and use it as his own shows me that he’s a d**k rider.”

That fight with Dubois was back in September 2024 and ‘AJ’ has spoken of his desire for a rematch, but first he is expedited to take on Fury in a long-awaited showdown, assuming he first gets past Prenga who has promised to shock the world with an upset.
