As Tyson Fury‘s showdown with Anthony Joshua approaches, the undercard is slowly starting to take shape.
The main event has been over a decade in the making. It has been a long, slow process, even in recent months when it seemed like neither man had anywhere better to go than to face one another.
Even issues such as who would appear first on the poster have apparently been sticking points as these two former two-time heavyweight rulers finally go head to head on December 11th in Cardiff at the Principality Stadium.
As well as their legacies being on the line, the winner is also set to walk away with the WBA heavyweight title.
There have been plenty of rumours about the undercard so far, with both Amir Khan and Manny Pacquiao, and Jai Opetaia and Deontay Wilder linked in recent days.
Now, a new post on X from All Out Boxing suggests Tyson Fury’s manager is pushing for two contenders from the banner division to clash in Cardiff.
“đź‘€ Spencer Brown has said he would like to see a fight between Justis Huni & Richard Riakporhe land on the Fury-AJ undercard…”
Aussie Huni has twice fought Brits before – first losing by KO to Fabio Wardley despite being up on the cards at the time, and last time out beating Frazer Clarke by majority decision in April.
Riakporhe, now 36, has won both the British cruiserweight and heavyweight title and most recently stopped Jeamie Tshikeva in the fifth round when he fought in April. He has just one loss on his record and that was to Chris Billam-Smith in June 2024 for the WBO cruiserweight title.
