Former heavyweight world titleholder Joseph Parker has been cleared to fight following a suspension and his manager Spencer Brown has already begun talking about his return.
Parker is a former WBO ruler who has shared the ring with the likes of Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz, scored notable wins over Deontay Wilder, Zhilei Zhang and Martin Bakole, but has also been stopped by Joe Joyce and, in his last outing, Fabio Wardley.
He will be hoping to get back into action soon after testing positive for cocaine following the Wardley fight back in October 2025 and following news that the British Boxing Board of Control have lifted his suspension.
Speaking to Playbook Boxing, Spencer Brown spoke about the plans for Parker.
“He’s back, he’s a top five fighter for me. He can give anybody in the heavyweight division a fight; now we’ve got to look at all the options. I spoke to David Higgins who has been his manager for a very long time.
“Look, I can’t wait for him to fight again. I think he’s buzzing, I think he’ll continue in camp with Tyson because they push each other and spur each other on. They do a lot of sparring together.”
He was then asked about potential opponents down the line.
“I spoke to Derek Chisora this morning, actually, he rung me and said have you heard the news about Joe and he mentioned he would take the fight, so let’s see, let’s see.
“I would love to see him on the undercard of Tyson Fury against Joshua, that would be great.”
Chisora has already twice lost to Parker on the cards after back-to-back 12-round battles in May and December 2021. He is now 42 years old and a veteran of 50 fights who many in the sport would rather see retire.
