Jake Paul Says Boxing Superstar Is Avoiding Fight: “He’s Been Scared For 3 Years”

Jake Paul has been stirring the pot once more by accusing a world-level boxing superstar of running scared.

Paul has proven a master of talking himself into the headlines and into some of the biggest fights of the last few years. The former YouTuber only turned over to boxing in 2020 but soon began racking up wins against well-chosen, ageing opponents and former MMA stars.

He won his first six contests, including beating Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva before he lost on points to Tommy Fury in 2023 – a man he continues to be linked with for a rematch.

After that, he got back to winning ways with a decision win over Nate Diaz and in his 12th fight he took on former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in a timid contest that went the distance and saw Paul clock up another win.

After beating Mexican Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, he was knocked out and had his jaw shattered by Anthony Joshua in December last year and has not yet returned to the ring.

That has not stopped him from wanting various figures in the sport. In a new post on X, he has now taken aim at multi-weight Mexican great Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

“Canelo fighting on Halloween is perfect.

He’s been dressed up as a guy who’s scared of me for three years.”

Canelo takes on Christian Mbilli on October 31st in a bid to regain a super-middleweight world title, having lost last time out in an undisputed fight with Terence Crawford.
