Tommy Fury looks set to get back to action sooner rather than later after his recent rejection of a second fight with Jake Paul.
Fury and Paul fought in February 2023 in an eight-round cruiserweight contest out in Saudi Arabia. It was the first time Paul had faced a real boxer and he had Fury down but ended up losing a split decision.
Since then, he has pushed on with big wins over several ageing MMA stars and retired boxers such as Julio César Chávez Jr and Mike Tyson, then in his last outing in November 2025 he was stopped inside six rounds by Anthony Joshua.
Paul has been recovering from a broken jaw since then, but Tommy’s father John admitted they had been offered a rematch, though he said it was too soon for his own return to the ring.
In June, Fury got an exhibition victory over former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall and now, according to co-founder Mams Taylor, he looks set to return on a Misfits card on December 5 in Manchester.
“The plan is to work with Tommy for his next fight. Let me see the date, let’s make sure everything’s aligned and then obviously we’ll announce it in due course. I’ve had some really good options, so let’s see what happens.
“I think it’s going to be an exciting one. There’s many more exciting ones for Tommy as well if he hangs about. We’ve got a lot of cool plans, so let me see what happens.”
‘Big John’ claimed he turned down an offer of $10 million from Paul for the rematch with his son. Although Paul himself is yet to comment, it is a fight that would make sense for both men.
