Shane Mosley Jr has revealed exactly who he wants to face next after he produced an impressive stoppage win over the weekend.
The 35-year-old from California made his return to the ring on Sunday, stopping former WBC interim light-middleweight champion Serhii Bohachuk in the sixth round of their clash at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It was Mosley’s first ring appearance since he suffered the fifth defeat of his professional career to Jesus Ramos last June, falling short in his bid to capture the WBC interim middleweight title.
After producing that solid stoppage victory over Bohachuk last weekend, Mosley has now called out highly-rated Irish star Callum Walsh, who has emerged as one of boxing’s most exciting prospects over the last few years.
Speaking during his post-fight interview, Mosley made no mistake in calling out Walsh for a future showdown as he claims he is willing to wait to face the unbeaten Irish star.
“So, there was a guy that fought in the very first Zuffa card, in the main event. His name is Callum Walsh. Where’s he at? I just can’t wait to be king. I just can’t wait to be king, let’s go!
“I know he got a fight coming up, so once he resolves that, let’s go. If I need to fight in between then, let’s go. I’ll do that, but I want Callum Walsh. If we can set it up next, let’s run it. If I gotta wait a little bit, I’ll do that.”
Walsh last competed back in January, defeating Mexico’s Carlos Ocampo via unanimous decision in the main event of the company’s inaugural event in Las Vegas.
Zuffa’s entry into the sport has captured the attention of fans around the world, making a number of high-profile signings over the last few months, including Britain’s Conor Benn who recently defeated former world super-lightweight champion Regis Prograis.
