Tyson Fury Delivers Verdict On Agit Kabayel vs Nelson Hysa As Heavyweight Title Fight Official

Tyson Fury is in camp for his fight with Anthony Joshua but that hasn’t stopped him from discussing the WBC heavyweight title clash between Agit Kabayel and Nelson Hysa.

Fury has fought just twice since December 2024, when he took a second consecutive loss to Oleksandr Usyk. All of 2025 was spent out of the ring in retirement then he returned in April with a points victory over Arslanbek Makmuhdov, and in July he forced Mariusz Wach to retire on his stool midway through their contest.

After months of back and forth, the fight with Joshua was finally confirmed for December 11 at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, and it has since been revealed that the WBA belt will be on the line.

Whoever comes out on top may seek to unify titles against the likes of Kabayel, who has held the WBC belt since he was elevated to full champion in June this year, having previously earned wins over fighters such as Zhilei Zhang, Frank Sanchez and Derek Chisora.

Speaking recently, Fury was asked to predict how Kabayel will get on in his first defence against undefeated Albanian contender Hysa.

“Nelson is pretty unknown, we haven’t seen that much of him, but he has been up to my gym sparring and he’s a tough old boy and he’s game and he wants it and he’s got all them knockouts. So I don’t know who is gunna win that one. 50/50.”

Hysa has fought 25 times and won 23 of them by KO, though has not yet fought any well-ranked contender, so Kabayel will be a big step up when they face each other at the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Düsseldorf, Germany, on November 28.
