Otto Wallin has shared the ring with Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury so he is well placed to give insight into how the much-anticipated fight between the two will play out.
Fury and Joshua have been on a collision course for many years, and right now the world is waiting for them to finally announce that the location is agreed and the contract to fight is signed.
Joshua and his promoter Eddie Hearn have been pushing hard for it to take place in the UK for the British fight fans, while broadcaster Netflix and promoter Turki Alalshikh want to capture a global market and host it in New York.
Both men have threatened to walk away and Fury has even called out Oleksandr Usyk, saying that he has now moved on from Joshua, though the bout could now be about to be salvaged after reports it may take place in Cardiff.
Speaking to Seconds Out, Wallin – who pushed Fury hard in 2019 and lost narrowly on points, but was knocked out by Joshua in 2023 – was asked what he thinks will happen if they do come to blows and sided with the boxing skills of Fury.
“It’ll be an exciting fight. I think it could be a good fight. It depends on both guys, where they are right now. But I would think that Fury would outbox Joshua, but you never know. Joshua is a very good fighter also. He’s definitely in the fight, so anything could happen.”
Both men have shown vulnerabilities in recent fights, with Fury getting hit several times by Mariusz Wach when they fought in July, while Joshua was down twice against the unheralded Kristian Prenga the night after.
